Innisfail is in the heart of the Cassowary Coast region. The area is surrounded by World Heritage Wet Tropics Rainforest, the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. There is much to see and do in the region including beautiful golden beaches, cool mountain streams, rainforest walks, the award winning Paronella Park, crocodile farm, white water rafting, sport fishing, close offshore islands including Dunk, Bedarra and Hinchinbrook Islands.

Innisfail township lies on the junction of the North and South Johnstone Rivers and is blessed with outstanding scenery. The town boasts a recently completed multi million dollar beautification project that has rejuvenated the CBD while keeping and enhancing the unique old world art deco architecture of the original buildings.
